Amy Sloan

Amy Sloan (Amy Kathleen Sloan) – Canadian-American actress, born 12 May 1978 in Gladstone, Manitoba, Canada, raised in Whitehorse, Yukon. Daughter of actress Mary Sloan and former Yukon Minister of Health Dave Sloan. Graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada in 1999. She was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress for Call Me Fitz. Her most notable film roles include Howard Hughes' Mother in The Aviator (2004, directed by Martin Scorsese), Elsa in The Day After Tomorrow (2004), Deborah in The Heartbreak Kid (2007, directed by the Farrelly Brothers), Linda in Head in the Clouds (2004), Kate Heinlein in Pterodactyl (2005), Ophelia in Waiting for Ophelia (2009), and Enid Simmonds in The Song of Names (2019). On television she is best known for Wendy Mixworthy in Big Shots (2007–2008, 11 episodes), Dot Foxley in Call Me Fitz (2010, 10 episodes), Elena in 12 Monkeys (2015, 3 episodes), Joana Mills in Truth Be Told (2019, 4 episodes), and Captain Sydney Vonn in Chicago Fire (2012, 2024). She has also appeared in Mad Men (2007), Grey's Anatomy (2005), Stargate SG-1 (1997), Gilmore Girls (2000), and Big Love (2006). On stage she played Ann Deever in All My Sons at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
